We just moved to new place and I am still exploring our neighbourhood around Bermondsey. During the weekend there are some street food markets with delicious homemade food.
This weekend I bought this lovely looking bread. Then I was searching for ideas what do with it, of course you can eat it only with butter, but I wanted something special :)
I mixed carrot, spring onions, cheese and ricotta together and spread it on bread. Healthy, delicious and tasty :)
hope you are all very well!
I want to share with you my latest dinner, very easy, quick, simple and healthy. I was craving spaghetti, but I did not want to classic ones, because they are boring. Also, I wanted something little bit healthier, so I went to the shop and bought some vegetable, wholemeat spaghetti and parmesan cheese.
I cut garlic, mushrooms and asparagus into little pieces and place everything on the pan. Later I added peas, salt, pepper and oregano. In another big bowl I cooked wholemeat spaghetti. When they were cooked, I added the pesto and a little bit of olive oil and mixed everything together. Serve it with little bit of parmesan.
I promise, it is amazing! :)
I just want to tell you, that I am still cooking and making photos of my food with new camera, I just did not have time to upload them. I was on holiday, taking rest for a while, but still thinking about cooking.
Here are some meals I did recently, hope you enjoy them:
I would like to introduce you this little lovely restaurant in London - Islington. I have been following this account on Instagram for a while. I am in love with all those photos of food so I decide d I have to see it on my own.
Guys, it is delicious, big portions, everything was so fresh and tasty. Interior is beautiful and I am sure you would love it here as well :)
If you need to do simple and healthy dinner, this is ideal for you. Place drumsticks on baking tray, season very well with salt and little bit of olive oil. Put it in oven for 1 - 1.5 hour. Meanwhile prepare fresh salad from red cabbage, grated apple, yogurt and walnuts.
Delicious, healthy, easy, ideal for weekdays :)
I was craving some "burger food", but still wanting something healthy. I was going through some Instagram accounts and found this burger with guacamole, grilled haloumni cheese and egg. I have to admit it was real treat. Easy and quick to make, delicous and heatlhy inspiration for lunch / dinner. You have to try!
do you love asparagus as much as I do ? Asparagus is one of the first vegetable of spring and you can buy it in two variations: green and white. They are all delicious and worth to try. I would say it is the easiest vegetable to cook. You can grill, cook or bake them. Just do not forget cut bottom of each stalk, cause it can be little bit woody.
Go to your nearest market and search for asparagus :)
I am wishing you all happy Easter!
I am living in the UK now, so I will not have a traditional Easter as we have in Slovakia, but at least I have prepared traditional food: potato salad with smoked ham.
There is tradition in Slovakia, that on Easter Monday men spank women with homemade whip and splash cold water on them. It is believed that women will be healthy, beautiful and full of energy for the rest of the year. Very interesting tradition... And believe me, girls do not like this :) After this all men will get sweets or nice colorful eggs.
Easter is about meeting with people you like and eating a lot of nice food. Enjoy it! :)
I wanted to do some nice banana bread or something similar, something what you can eat for breakfast or if you need some snacking, just something nice.. :) I am not a big fan of baking, I am not patient at all, so let`s say no baking at all. I was going through Everyday superfood book from Jamie Oliver and I saw there this banana - fig bread. It looks so easy to make that I decided to try.
Sometimes people see a lot of ingredients in the recipe and it discourages them and do not even read it till the end.
This bread is very easy to make, this is how I made it: Put in food processor 2 eggs, 4 bananas, 200g of dried figs, 125 g of natural yogurt, vanilla extract, 75ml of rapeseed oil and mix all together. Then add 150 grams of wholemeal flour, 1tbsp of baking powder, grated apple and some seeds (etc poppy seeds, chia seeds or pumpkin seeds). Pour it into a baking tray and sprinkle with walnuts. Bake it for 45 minutes for 180C.
Give it a try!
